Each crew will report on the status of their story development and I will decide on how each crew is to proceed based on the degree of proficiency in the Preproduction status of each crew.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-Lastly, we will begin the set up for a studio recording:  This will be a two camera studio production simulation. Crew responsibilities for this assignment include set-up of the studio: (camera, lavaliere microphones, teleprompter monitor, light grid and set.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Members of the other crews are to be respectful observers as well as helpful production assistants as needed.  In addition, crews who have completed their recordings will have access to the editing suite to upload and edit their PSA/Ad.  If Mrs. G selected your PSA/Ad to edit for air, you will be able to view/participate in the creation of the final product.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;FRIDAY:&lt;/span&gt; On Friday, we will 'Wrap It Up'. This advice will be put to the test for when you plan and conduct interviews. The primary purpose of military time system is to prevent confusion between A.M. and P.M. Any crew that has already received their critique and were instructed to "re-shoot" any technique must sign out the camera and complete the requirements.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Tuesday: "Lights-Camera-Action" Word Search Assignment&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is a 1/2 day and students will receive a wordsearch handout that is to be completed by the end of the hour.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Wednesday: TV Viewing Assignment&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Students will be given a TV Viewing Assignment sheet.  You are to watch a TV news show and observe various techniques as well as content coverage.  Please answer all of the questions fully.  CABLE COILING TECHNIQUES&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On Tursday, I will demonstrate the propoer Cable Coiling Techniques for the BNC and the XLR cables. Each crew will fill out a "self critique" form regarding cameral set up; shot composition; audio levels; microphone technique.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Assignment: &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Based on Recording Critique, crews will be sent back out into the field for a “Second Taping” assignment. This handout is designed to help you become familiar with several wire and connector types that you will be using throughout the course of the year. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Taping: &lt;/strong&gt; Students will break out into "Production Crews" and will be given an assignment for recording a small clip with the video camera.  The objective of this assignment is to have each crew properly set up the camera for recording; to select the appropriate microphone; to set appropriate audio levels; to calibrate the white balance and aperature settings; and properly record a "video" piece for critique.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;REVIEW:&lt;/strong&gt;  Thursday will be "review" day for a quiz that will be administered on Friday covering "Production Basics".  To prepare for the quiz, students should refer to their movie notes, the Wiring and Cable" handout, as well as review notes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;QUIZ: &lt;/strong&gt; A quiz of "Video Basics" will be administered on Friday. This 30 minute video will introduce basic information on Camcorder operation; button basics; lighting basics; sound basics and composition basics.  Students are required to take notes .&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Task Achievement Record:&lt;/strong&gt;  Each student is required to fill out a "Task Achievement Record.  This assignment will provide a baseline for each student telling of his/her incoming knowledge (proficiency) level for the various disciplines of Television Production.  The assignment must be turned in at the end of the hour.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Camera Basics: &lt;/strong&gt; This will be a "hands-on" introduction to the basic set up and operation of the Video Camera that will be used throughout the year for recordings.
